74 questions covering pricing, trials, ordering, resources, games, Los Angeles network details, panel access, backups, shared billing, support, privacy and legal policies.
Ordering & provisioning
Checkout, trial, setup, activation and launch state
Can I buy a server right now?
Not yet. Pricing is published, but checkout remains closed while the Los Angeles production service, Paymenter billing, PayPal, provisioning, backup/restore and support workflows are validated end to end.
Will there be a 24-hour free trial?
Yes. Runic Hosting plans to let a new customer start one eligible shared game server for 24 hours without entering a card or authorizing PayPal. If the trial is not converted to paid service by hour 24, access is suspended. If it remains unpaid at hour 48, the trial is cancelled.
Does starting a trial authorize a charge?
No. Trial use does not authorize a payment. The customer must complete the actual checkout flow and authorize the supported payment method before the trial becomes a paid Service.
Which games are planned for launch?
Minecraft Java, Minecraft Bedrock, Project Zomboid, 7 Days to Die, Valheim, Terraria and RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Roadmap games remain visible separately so heavier titles are not confused with launch inventory.
How does checkout work at launch?
The customer chooses the game and resources, Paymenter owns the order and recurring billing, PayPal handles payment, and successful provisioning is passed to Pterodactyl for the game server.
How fast will setup be?
Provisioning is designed to begin automatically after successful payment. Any public setup-time promise will be based on the real production workflow rather than an invented instant-setup claim.
When is a service considered active?
A paid Service is activated when the customer account or game panel reports the paid service as available. A free trial begins when the trial server is made available.
Where is the first launch location?
Los Angeles, California is the selected first location. Production hosting is not described as live until the service has been provisioned and validated.
Will there be setup fees?
No setup fee is currently planned for normal shared game-server orders. Any applicable fee, tax or third-party charge must be visible before payment.
Resources & performance
Allocated RAM, players, workload and heavy servers
What is the difference between minimum and recommended RAM?
The game minimum is the lowest RAM allowed for that title. The recommendation is a suggested starting point based on the game, expected players and workload. The customer can select below the recommendation when the game minimum allows it.
If the builder recommends 6 GB, can I still choose 4 GB?
Yes when that game has a 4 GB minimum. The builder warns that 4 GB is below the recommendation but does not block a valid configuration.
Why do you not advertise “uncapped RAM”?
Shared hosting still runs on finite hardware. Each server receives a defined RAM allocation so the customer knows what is actually assigned and what sets the price. We would rather stop selling when safe node capacity is full than use an unlimited-sounding memory label that still depends on shared capacity and other workloads.
Is my selected RAM actually the amount assigned to my service?
Yes. The RAM chosen in the Runic Hosting server builder is the shared-memory allocation associated with the service configuration. It is not merely a recommendation or an advertising label.
What do Standard, Active and Heavy change?
They change the sizing recommendation. They are workload descriptions, not three separate public hosting plans.
What changes the recommendation?
Expected concurrent players, workload and game-specific sizing rules can change the recommendation. Some games have official or vendor-published guidance that the sizing model uses as a reference.
Can I choose more RAM than recommended?
Yes, within the published shared range. Extra headroom can help larger worlds, modded setups or future growth, but more RAM does not fix every software or game-engine bottleneck.
What if a server needs more than 16 GB?
It belongs in a larger-capacity product instead of being squeezed into the shared launch range. Heavy titles can publish separately once the required capacity is available.
Does RAM guarantee a certain player count?
No. Player capacity depends on the game, world size, mods/plugins, tick rate, player behavior and overall server load as well as RAM.
Do you publish the physical machine specifications?
No. Public infrastructure information stays focused on customer-relevant network details: location, bandwidth, port capacity and DDoS protection.
Can Runic Hosting move my service to different infrastructure later?
The Terms allow the underlying node, IP, port, network path or software to change when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, capacity or reliability. Runic Hosting should minimize disruption and provide notice where practical.
Games, mods & customization
Versions, plugins, modpacks, worlds and compatibility
Can I use mods and plugins?
Yes where the game and server software support them and Runic Hosting has validated the workflow. Support is game-specific rather than a promise that every third-party mod will work.
Can I upload my existing world?
Yes where the game uses compatible portable world or save data. Migration help is part of the service for supported titles.
Can Runic Hosting migrate the world for me?
Runic Hosting can assist with supported migrations. The customer should still keep an independent copy of the source world because imports and format changes can fail.
Can I change server versions?
For supported games, yes. A version switch may require a backup, reinstall, world conversion or compatibility check first.
Can I run custom server software?
Only software compatible with the service and allowed by the game publisher, Runic Hosting policies and the panel/node security model. Unsupported binaries or custom code may receive best-effort support only.
Why are Rust, Palworld and ARK not treated like the lighter launch games?
Their resource and storage requirements can be much larger. Runic Hosting would rather offer an appropriate capacity class than market a configuration that is too small.
Do my friends need Runic Hosting accounts?
No. Players connect through the game client using the server address and port. The Runic Hosting customer account is for the service owner and authorized account users, not every game player.
Panel, files & network
Console, SFTP, subusers, Discord, ports and connectivity
Where do I manage the actual game server?
The customer account handles services, billing and support. Pterodactyl handles the game server itself: console, files, SFTP, backups, schedules, settings and power controls.
Will I have SFTP access?
Yes. SFTP is part of the planned production panel workflow for direct server-file transfer.
Can I give a friend panel access without sharing my password?
That is planned through Pterodactyl subusers. The goal is individual access with scoped permissions rather than sharing the owner account or SFTP credentials.
Will Runic Hosting support Discord server controls?
Planned. Runic Hosting intends to support owner-authorized Discord actions for status and safe power controls such as start, stop and restart. Destructive actions such as wipes or file deletion will remain inside authenticated management surfaces instead of being exposed through Discord.
Can I start, stop and restart the server myself?
Yes through the game panel. The current website preview only simulates those controls locally and cannot touch real infrastructure.
Can I run console commands?
Supported game-server commands can be entered through the live console once the production service is connected.
Are scheduled tasks supported?
Pterodactyl supports schedules and Runic Hosting plans to expose validated scheduling workflows such as recurring restarts or supported commands.
Do I need to port-forward my home router?
No. The game server runs on Runic Hosting-hosted infrastructure rather than your home network. Players connect to the hosted server address and port.
What network details do you publish?
Los Angeles, California; 1 Gbps unmetered; Up to 10 Gbps port; DDoS protection included on all IPs.
What DDoS protection do you have?
DDoS protection included on all IPs. As with any mitigation system, that does not mean every possible attack can be absorbed without filtering or temporary disruption.
Can I get extra ports?
Extra game-server allocations depend on the title, use case and available network configuration. Runic Hosting will publish the actual allocation rules rather than promise unlimited ports.
Backups & customer data
Recovery, retention and customer responsibility
Are backups included?
Backup access is part of the planned hosting experience for supported game data. Each launch game must pass backup and restore validation before it is treated as production-ready.
Where are backups stored?
Runic Hosting plans to keep recovery data separate from the live service so a single failure does not remove both live data and its only recovery copy. The final backup implementation will be validated before paid launch.
Are backups guaranteed to be perfect?
No. Backup tooling reduces risk but is not a substitute for the customer keeping independent copies of important worlds and saves.
Can I restore a backup myself?
Restore workflows are supported where validated, but restoring overwrites current data and should be treated as a destructive action.
What happens to trial files if I do not pay?
An unconverted trial is suspended at hour 24 and cancelled at hour 48. Remaining trial data then follows the applicable post-termination retention rules, but Runic Hosting does not guarantee that terminated trial data can be recovered.
What happens to my files after cancellation?
A normal paid cancellation leaves the service active through the paid term unless immediate termination is requested. After termination, server data may be permanently deleted after seven days under the Terms, and customers should download anything they want to keep before then.
Can Runic Hosting access my server files?
Only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure or support the service. Asking Runic Hosting to troubleshoot or migrate a server authorizes staff to inspect or modify the affected service as needed for that request.
Who owns my world and save files?
The customer retains ownership of lawful worlds, saves, configuration and other uploaded content. Runic Hosting receives only the rights needed to host, process, move, back up and support that data.
Billing, trials, renewals & refunds
Pricing, trial conversion, split payments, PayPal and cancellation
How much does shared game hosting cost?
Runic Hosting's monthly shared price ladder is $9.99/mo for 4 GB, $14.99/mo for 6 GB, $19.99/mo for 8 GB, $24.99/mo for 10 GB, $29.99/mo for 12 GB, $34.99/mo for 14 GB and $39.99/mo for 16 GB.
Do player count or Standard / Active / Heavy add a separate fee?
No. Those inputs change the sizing recommendation. The monthly price is determined by the RAM amount the customer actually selects.
Can friends split the cost of my server?
Planned. The service owner will be able to share an official invoice contribution link. Other people can contribute toward the current bill, while the owner remains responsible for the full balance and keeps ownership, cancellation and account-control rights.
Does contributing money give someone access to my server?
No. A payment contribution does not grant panel access, SFTP credentials, server ownership, support authority or cancellation rights. Access is handled separately through authorized-user or panel-subuser permissions.
How do I pay?
PayPal is the planned launch payment method through Paymenter. Runic Hosting does not run a separate custom billing system beside Paymenter.
Is hosting recurring?
Yes. Hosting is billed in advance for the cycle shown at checkout and recurring billing continues until cancellation when the customer authorizes a recurring payment method.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. A normal cancellation stops future renewal and keeps the service active through the period already paid unless the customer specifically requests immediate termination.
What is the refund policy after using the free trial?
The free trial itself has no charge to refund. If an eligible trial is converted to a paid Service, the normal 72-hour first-paid-order refund window begins when the paid Service is activated after conversion.
Are renewals refundable?
Renewals are generally non-refundable once the renewed service period begins, unless required by law or there is a verified duplicate charge, billing error or payment-processor error.
Are second or later server orders covered by the 72-hour guarantee?
No. The standard guarantee is intended for a customer’s first eligible paid shared game-server order and cannot be repeatedly reset through additional accounts or orders.
What items are normally excluded from the standard refund guarantee?
Renewals, later server orders, post-guarantee upgrades/add-ons, dedicated or custom services, non-recoverable third-party charges, and services terminated for fraud or serious abuse are among the published exclusions.
What happens if a payment is overdue?
An unpaid paid service may be suspended after its due date. Unless another grace period is shown in the account, the Terms allow termination and deletion of service data seven days after the due date.
Should I open a PayPal dispute if something is wrong?
Contact Runic Hosting support first at gamerpulsegg@outlook.com so billing can be investigated. Customers still keep any dispute rights provided by law or their payment provider.
Support, security & abuse
Tickets, scope, account access and policy enforcement
Is support only AI?
No. AI can help organize logs and troubleshooting context, but billing disputes, refunds, destructive restores, wipes, abuse decisions and ownership-sensitive actions remain human-reviewed.
What should I include in a support ticket?
The affected server, when the problem started, recent changes, relevant logs/error text and what you were trying to do. That is usually more useful than a generic “server broken” message.
Do you promise a response time?
No public support-response SLA is being claimed until the real support operation is live and measured.
Will Runic Hosting debug my custom code?
Custom code and unsupported third-party modifications may receive best-effort guidance, but Runic Hosting does not promise to rewrite or repair third-party software.
Can Runic Hosting suspend a server?
Yes when reasonably necessary for non-payment, serious policy violations, security risk, fraud, illegal activity, active abuse or a valid legal request.
Do customers get a warning before suspension?
Where an issue is reasonably curable, Runic Hosting will generally try to provide notice. Immediate action can be taken for active attacks, malware, fraud, compromised credentials or other urgent risks.
Where do I report abuse or copyright infringement?
Use the Copyright & Abuse Policy and the published contact information so the report can include the required identifiers and evidence.
Privacy, availability & legal
Policies, cookies, uptime and customer rights
Where are all legal policies?
The Legal & Policies page links the Terms, Privacy Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, Trial & Split Payment Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Service Availability Policy, Copyright & Abuse Policy and Cookie Policy.
Where are the trial and contribution rules?
The Trial & Split Payment Policy covers eligibility, the 24-hour trial, suspension and cancellation timing, conversion to paid service, contributor rights, ownership, refunds and payment reversals.
Do you guarantee an uptime percentage?
Not unless a specific product order expressly includes one. The general Service Availability Policy does not invent a contractual uptime percentage or automatic credit.
What happens during maintenance?
Runic Hosting may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance when needed for security, stability or restoration. Planned notice is provided where practical.
What information does Runic Hosting collect?
The Privacy Policy covers account/contact information, billing records, service metadata, support content, security logs and other data needed to provide and protect hosting. Payment credentials handled directly by PayPal are not stored as raw card data by Runic Hosting.
Can I request deletion of personal data?
Yes where applicable. Privacy requests can be sent to gamerpulsegg@outlook.com, subject to data Runic Hosting must retain for billing, fraud prevention, security or legal obligations.
Does the site use advertising trackers?
The current site does not rely on a third-party advertising pixel network. Essential cookies and theme/preferences are documented in the Cookie Policy, and any future analytics technology must be disclosed there.
What law governs the service?
The Terms intentionally do not invent a jurisdiction before the contracting legal provider is finalized. The provider identity and governing-law information shown on the final checkout or invoice are incorporated into the Terms, while mandatory consumer rights still apply.
