By creating an account, starting a trial, placing an order, renewing a service, contributing to an invoice or using a Runic Hosting service, you agree to these Terms and the policies incorporated by reference.
Agreement and provider
“Runic Hosting,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the hosting provider identified under the Runic Hosting brand in the customer account and on the invoice or checkout record for your Service. If a formal legal entity name or business address appears on your invoice or checkout, that entity is the contracting provider and is incorporated into these Terms.
“Service” means any game server, add-on, trial, customer account feature, support service, website feature or related hosting product supplied under the Runic Hosting brand. These Terms, our Privacy Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, Trial & Split Payment Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Service Availability Policy and Copyright & Abuse Policy form the agreement between you and the provider.
Eligibility and accounts
- You must be legally capable of entering a binding contract. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must create the account, place the order and accept these Terms.
- You must provide accurate account and billing information and keep your contact email current.
- You are responsible for protecting account credentials, panel credentials, API keys, SFTP credentials and other access information issued to you.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account or Service unless you promptly notify us of unauthorized access.
- We may require reasonable identity, payment or fraud verification before activating or continuing a Service, trial or shared-payment contribution.
Services and provisioning
Runic Hosting provides hosted game-server resources and related account, billing, support and management access. Product specifications, supported games, RAM, storage, player guidance, locations and other features are those shown in the order flow or service description at the time of purchase.
Provisioning may be automated. A paid Service is considered activated when the customer account or game panel reports the paid Service as available, whether or not you have logged in yet. A trial is considered activated when the trial server is made available. Setup times shown on the site are estimates unless a specific written guarantee says otherwise.
We may change the underlying node, IP address, port, network path or software used to provide a Service when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, capacity management or reliability. We will avoid unnecessary disruption and provide notice where practical.
Billing, trials and renewals
- Paid hosting is billed in advance for the billing cycle displayed at checkout.
- If you authorize recurring PayPal billing or another recurring payment method made available by Runic Hosting, the Service renews automatically until you cancel it.
- Taxes, fees and the total amount due are shown before payment where applicable.
- You are responsible for keeping an authorized payment method available and for reviewing invoices and renewal notices sent to your account email.
- An unpaid paid Service may be suspended after its due date. Unless another written grace period is shown in your customer account, a Service that remains unpaid may be terminated and its data deleted seven days after the due date.
- Chargebacks or payment disputes may result in immediate suspension while the dispute is investigated. Contact Runic Hosting support first so we have an opportunity to resolve a billing problem.
Free trial
When Runic Hosting offers the free-trial program, one eligible shared game-server trial may be started without a payment method. Unless another trial period is shown before activation, the standard trial lasts 24 hours. If it is not converted to a paid Service by hour 24, we may suspend access. If it remains unpaid at hour 48, we may cancel the trial. Trial eligibility, abuse controls and data handling are governed by the Trial & Split Payment Policy.
Trial use does not authorize a charge. A customer must complete the real checkout flow and authorize payment before a trial becomes a paid Service. The standard first-order refund period begins with activation of the eligible paid Service after conversion, not with the earlier free-trial activation.
Split the Cost
When Split the Cost is available, the Service owner may share an official contribution link tied to an invoice. Contributors may help fund that invoice, but the account holder remains responsible for the full balance and remains the sole Service owner. A contribution does not grant panel access, SFTP credentials, cancellation rights, support authority, backup control or any ownership interest. See the Trial & Split Payment Policy.
Resources and configuration
Your order defines the resources allocated to your Service. RAM recommendations are guidance, while game-specific minimums and purchased resource limits are enforceable configuration boundaries. Runic Hosting sells defined shared RAM allocations rather than promising unlimited or “uncapped” memory. You may not intentionally bypass resource controls, container limits, process restrictions, storage quotas, network limits or other technical safeguards.
Game performance depends on factors beyond RAM, including CPU demand, world size, player count, mods, plugins, game updates and save behavior. We do not guarantee that every third-party mod, plugin, map, save or configuration will perform correctly simply because the Service meets a published minimum.
Customer data and backups
You retain ownership of your game worlds, saves, configuration files and other content you lawfully upload. You grant the provider the limited rights necessary to store, copy, move, inspect, back up and process that data for the purpose of providing, securing and supporting the Service.
Backup features reduce risk but are not a substitute for your own independent copies. Unless a product explicitly states otherwise, we do not guarantee that every backup will be available, complete or restorable. You should download important worlds and saves periodically.
After a Service is terminated, server data may be permanently deleted after 7 days. Data may be deleted sooner where required for security, legal compliance, abuse response, infrastructure failure or where a product description expressly provides a different retention period. Once data is deleted, recovery may be impossible.
Acceptable use
You must use the Services lawfully and in accordance with the Acceptable Use Policy. Prohibited uses include malicious network activity, malware, denial-of-service attacks, cryptocurrency mining, unauthorized scanning, phishing, spam infrastructure, illegal content, infringement, attempts to compromise Runic Hosting systems and deliberate circumvention of resource limits.
You are also responsible for complying with the rules, licenses and server terms imposed by the publisher or developer of the game or software you choose to run.
Support and access
Support covers reasonable assistance with Runic Hosting-managed hosting, supported game installations, panel access, service configuration, common crashes, migrations and billing questions. We may ask for logs, files or temporary access needed to diagnose an issue.
By asking Runic Hosting to troubleshoot or migrate a Service, you authorize staff to access, inspect, copy, modify or restart the affected server as reasonably necessary to perform the requested support work. We do not intentionally access customer files for unrelated purposes.
Third-party mods, plugins, custom code, unsupported server software and custom configurations may receive best-effort support only.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate a Service when reasonably necessary because of non-payment, a material breach of these Terms, security risk, network abuse, illegal activity, fraud, a valid legal request, or conduct that creates a material risk to Runic Hosting, its providers or other customers.
Where the issue is reasonably curable, we will generally attempt to provide notice and an opportunity to correct it. Immediate action may be taken for active attacks, malware, compromised credentials, fraud, illegal content, credible threats or other urgent risks.
Termination for a serious policy violation does not create a right to a refund. Customer data may be preserved temporarily where required by law or needed to investigate abuse.
Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel a recurring paid Service at any time through the customer billing flow or by contacting support. Unless you request an immediate termination, cancellation normally stops future renewal and leaves the Service active through the end of the period already paid.
Eligible first-time paid game-server orders may qualify for a refund when requested within 72 hours of paid activation. Renewals, later orders, custom or dedicated hardware, third-party licenses and other excluded items are handled under the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Free trials do not generate a refund because no charge is required to start them.
Availability and maintenance
Hosting depends on software, networks, datacenters, power, upstream providers and game publishers that can experience faults or maintenance. We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance when needed to protect or restore the Services.
Unless a specific product order expressly includes an uptime SLA or service-credit commitment, no contractual uptime percentage or automatic credit applies. See the Service Availability Policy for maintenance, outage and backup details.
Third-party software and games
Games, mods, plugins, server binaries, operating systems, panels, payment services and other third-party products remain subject to their own licenses and terms. Runic Hosting is not the publisher of the games we host and cannot guarantee that a publisher will continue dedicated-server support, preserve compatibility or permit every mod or configuration.
A game update, publisher decision or third-party outage may temporarily or permanently affect a hosted product. Where practical, we may offer migration, version changes or another reasonable remedy rather than continuing an unsupported configuration.
Intellectual property
The Runic Hosting name, website design, original text, software and branding are owned by or licensed to the provider. Game names, logos, screenshots and artwork belong to their respective owners. Unless explicitly stated, Runic Hosting is an independent hosting provider and is not sponsored by, affiliated with or endorsed by a game publisher.
You may not use the Services to distribute content you do not have the right to use. Copyright and abuse complaints are handled under our Copyright & Abuse Policy.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties that cannot reasonably be applied to an internet hosting service, including uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every third-party modification, or fitness for a particular custom workload. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the provider is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business opportunity, goodwill or data arising from the Services.
Except for liability that cannot legally be limited, the provider’s aggregate liability arising from an affected Service will not exceed the fees you paid for that affected Service during the three months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify the provider against third-party claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from content you upload, unlawful use of the Services, infringement caused by your content, or a material violation of these Terms. This section does not require you to indemnify the provider for its own unlawful conduct or gross negligence where the law prohibits such a requirement.
Changes to terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, payment processing, infrastructure, products, security or business operations. Material changes that adversely affect active customers will be communicated through the customer account, email or another reasonable notice method before they take effect where required by law. The updated date on this page identifies the current version.
Governing law
The governing law, legal provider identity and any required venue information shown on your checkout record or invoice are incorporated into these Terms. Mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live remain unaffected. If a dispute occurs, both parties should first attempt in good faith to resolve it through support before beginning formal proceedings.
